Tonight people protested the deployment of estimated 2500-5000 combat troops with the 3rd ACR at Ft. Hood to Iraq. The troops were deploying in the dead of night (4:30am) to avoid protesters and the press. Protesters didn't back off and filmed the deployment, and were able to block few buses. No one was arrested and the protest was a success. Video will be released tomorrow. please K&R, to honor their bravery

Here are some quotes from the protesters.
*Most amazing thing was troops in buses raising clenched fists as buses drove by protest. Solidarity!
*Submachine guns, police dogs, lots of cops...and some of the bravest people i know stopping the buses for a deployment to iraq from fort hood. They forced our blockers off the road with physical force....we will be releasing some amazing footage of the whole event. Peace and lets stop the endless wars!!!!!!!!!
*Was near the protest. Pretty intense. Stayed with press but Fort Hood cops swarmed us. We quickly proved to cops we were not a threat. Meanwhile participants moved to the actual bridge above the Clark gate bridge. 5 other participants actually made it to the roadway and briefly stopped buses before police cleared the road. Participants came speaking over the bullhorn. Amazingly enough NO ONE was arrested...
