My Pandigital Novell 7 arrives today. |

sometime between 9 and 6.
The android powered ereader is actually more than that. It is a full color touch screen tablet.

1. So tell me why I would want this tablet rather than the Ipad? |

Seriously, I don't know much about it... (I don't have an ipad either but know some of its limitations...e.g., no multitasking)

The Novell is lighter than the Ipad. Slightly larger than the Kindle and Nook and costs 169 with 20 dollar rebate.

3. So you can multi-task? |

Is it wifi only? or linked to a wireless carrier?

I know it will work at Starbucks. I might get home wifi eventually. As a reader it supports pdf and epub and I've heard you can sync it with your library for book loans. The Barnes and Noble app is on the first page but on the second page of apps there is this adobe reader. There is a night vision function because it is a computer screen. Unlike ereaders which require a light.
I bought it for its full color touch screen and surfing capabilities but now the ereader thing is getting me excited.

5. I see that Bed, Bath & Beyond is going to carry them--at least online |
|
(wonder if they'll take one of those 20%) coupons.... Seems intriguing. Be sure and let us know how you like it.

7. I got it at bed bath and beyond. |

they had to order it. It was the last day for the rebate but I bet the online price goes to 149.
I thought It was strange that a homestore was selling an ereader, and I couldn't find it at best buy or target. But since it is being made by a maker of digital picture frames that makes total sense. One of the apps on the front is for pictures.
There are some youtube demos available. I know from selling the Nook at work that firmware updates are what allows these companies to rush these products to market. The fact that people have already started hacking this device I think is a good sign too.
