To the Editor,
Sometimes things happen that strengthen your faith. I’d like to thank two people who have saved my life this year.
As residents of Waxahachie, we don’t always realize how fortunate we are. I found out when I was rushed to the E.R. of Baylor Waxahachie. The nursing care was magnificent. One individual I’d like to thank, however, is Dr. Avian Kidd, who saved my life. The fact that we are blessed with him and his physician peers in Waxahachie is something to be grateful for.
I was transferred to U.T. Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. My neurology team was one of the top 10 in the nation. It was there that I met my second miracle worker, Dr. Christopher Madden. Dr. Madden literally saved my brain. I owe him my life ... and my ability to function normally again.
As I tell you these things, I remember people I have met who didn’t have the same blessing, the same insurance, the same resources. I wonder how their lives might have changed had they been able to obtain early, preventative medical care. It has made me even more committed to obtaining health and dental care for all who need it. There is hope if only you can access the miracle workers.
