Though I never voted for him I think a lesson is to be learned from Kucinich

I admire Dennis Kucinich and have for several years. The reason I admire him is that he holds principled opinions. I came to that conclusion after watching him in debates. What occurred to me then, and I believe now, is that he did not spend his time preparing for questions in the usual way; to anticipate what might be asked and then to find the answer within the context that would be most attractive to the greatest number of potential voters. No, it seemed to me that Dennis Kucinich first thought through what his philosophy and approach to governance would be and then applied that to whatever question was thrown his way. He was not a political animal, he was a philosophically driven man. So without great preparation he could explain his position clearly on any issue. You do not need to guess where the good Representative stands on an issue, he does not deliver surprises from way out in right field.

President Obama would do well to follow his lead.

Kucinich is great to have in Congress as a prophetic voice from the wilderness. He has been way out front on the right side of many issues.

But, it's unlikely that he would have gotten much passed through Congress. And based on the way he tried to self-manage his campaigns, he likely would have driven the country into the ground as President. Obama is better on both counts.

He would like to help all of us, not just the bankers and insurance execs, and he is one of the few left that still believes in the rule of law and the constitution.
I wish the party was still for the people like him and like the Democrats used to be.

over one that stands for nothing, even when they disagree on the stand.

He is 'primaried' every cycle by corporate whores from both parties, and is hated by those that run his party, yet he is re-elected over and over.

He represents the antithesis of Obama.

Looking at Obama's comments over time, it's pretty easy to see a consistent philosophical underpinning. He's still a politician, but he comes with a worldview shaped by his background in left-wing movement activism.
Of course, anyone who's firmly convinced that Obama is either a socialist or a DLC tool will only be capable of seeing what they're looking for.
