CHARLESTON - Police arrested a Charleston man on May 21 for allegedly stealing power tools from three residences.

Detective Lt. Chad Reed said Jerry L. Gordon, 55, 412 14th St., was arrested on charges of residential burglary, possession of stolen property, and theft over $300.

Gordon allegedly took power tools from inside two residences and from the porch of a third residence, Reed said. Several items of reported stolen property were recovered by investigators and returned to their owner.

Reed said police arrested Gordon after receiving a tip. Gordon remains in custody at the Coles County jail
