7. See, I feel a little differently. I /do/ feel sorry for her. What she did was despicable,

however, threatening to take someone's life isn't exactly sunshine and rainbows. There are a myriad of other ways to get your viewpoint across.

14. I confess - I'd love to know what was going through her mind when she did that.

It just seems purely sadistic. But who knows, maybe she has early stage dementia. A friend of mines' mother used to put everything in the refrigerator. If she couldn't find her hairbrush or shoes, that was usually where they were.

On the other hand, that woman was looking around after she did it with a look more of guilt than confusion.

Can sensitivity be taught? If so, this woman needs many hrs of community service + sensitivity classes.

Yesterday, Mark posted a disturbing video of a middle-aged woman petting a cat and then throwing it—alive—into a trash bin. Mark today posted an update that she's now under police protection. What hasn't been talked about yet on Boing Boing is what happened between those two posts. 4chan happened.

Often dismissed as little more than a gang of anonymous bullies, there is some truth to the notion that the site is simultaneously the best and worst of the internet, and that when they put their collective minds together, there is no stopping them. Sometimes they dun goof up, other times they emerge as victorious white knights on a quest from Ceiling Cat.

the video is fascinating because it shows how a seemingly normal person can behave in a bewildering fashion, in broad daylight....it's easy to rationalize bad behavior when the perpetrator is a child or a substance abuser or under extreme forces like a flood but this.......it's something else. Also troubling are the death threats against this gal - those folk are not behaving normally either. Troubling all the way around.
