5. It's so important that everyone do this.

I know I sound like a broken record...but we cannot just give up and think that our voices don't matter. We can't assume that our politicians magically know what we're thinking. We have to tell them...and tell them often. Makes no difference if they are repukes or Democrats. In addition to the White House and the Democratic party, email the RNC...email your congressional delegation - email them all!
The more they hear from us that we do not buy the bullshit about Social Security, the more reluctant they'll be to try and pull one over on us. We have to let them know that we're paying attention and we won't tolerate "tweaks", cuts to benefits, raising the retirement age, etc.
