Transparency and Government Contractors

The taxpayers are focusing in on public/government employees.
What they earn in wages and compensation benefits, etc..

While the citizen has full access to this info (and they should) my concern is why don't we have access to those contracting to the government?
For instance in the 'defense' industry, why can't we get the wages and benefit package info of a CEO and employees in General Atomics, Raytheon, etc...?
Why not?
Aren't we paying for these people's wages and benefits also?
Don't we boost their companies profit margins while they produce products that are untaxed?

And what about any private company that contracts (and many times soaks) with our government?
Since they are being paid with our money why don't we have the same level of transparency as we do with the directly employed government employee?
