1. Appoint Elizabeth Warren as head of protecting consumers from the fucking goddamned capitalists. Use recess appointment if necessary.

2. Fire Summers and Geithner. Replace them with demand-siders.

3. Have a series of TV and radio heart-to-heart talks with the American people. Use that old Barack charisma, and lay out an aggressively progressive vision for a "New New Deal" focused on public-infrastructure-jobs and green initiatives to boost employment. Lay this out as a yardstick for the new Congress. As part of this, explain how the end of the republican tax cuts for the wealthy is a good thing, and suggest a generous new working Americans tax cut that reduces payroll taxes and puts $10,000 or more in the hands of each American family.

If I had a #4, it would be to end DADT.


Notice I took the "feasible" approach. I did not say "bring all the troops home from Iraq and Afghanistan," which in a sane country would be the obvious #1.

Cut the defence budget (preferably in half) and say the reason is to help our massive deficit be put under control, since that is what the republicans seem sooo concerned about now.
