Conservatives are about control of the self (limitation of the self's desires).

This is clear enough, however twisted and bizarre. But isn't it odd that she views homosexuality as something like a universal desire of the self that must be controlled through some kind of personal discipline? Essentially, Rachel Faith is saying, to use the words of Kurt Cobain, everyone is gay, but only those who can't control their gay desires become Sodomites.

Um, excuse me, Rachel Faith? Is the reason you have not engaged (as far as we can tell) in gay sexual behavior simply a matter of you controlling and limiting your desires? Because that's what you're saying in your post. She's essentially saying this:

"Listen, everyone has gay desires. Everyone desires physically intimacy with people of the same sex. It's only natural that the human being would have this multiplicity of desires. But we must CONTROL these desires. We must limit our actions and behaviors. We must find ways to hem in and shut down our own aberrant desires.
