DeLay's trial will be held in Travis County

AUSTIN -- A judge has denied a change of venue to former U.S. House Majority Leader Tom DeLay, who had asked that his trial on money-laundering charges be moved from Travis County, which DeLay calls the "last bastion of liberalism" in Texas. Senior Judge Pat Priest ruled Wednesday that appropriate safeguards could be put in place to give DeLay a fair trial. Priest set a tentative trial date of Oct. 26. snip
