Miller says he is concerned Murkowski will 'pull an Al Franken'
By Jordan Fabian - 08/27/10 06:00 AM ET

Joe Miller, the Republican candidate who is poised to knock off Sen. Lisa Murkowski (Alaska) in a primary contest, said Thursday he is concerned she will launch a protracted legal battle to save her seat.

Miller, an Iraq war veteran who received the backing of former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin (R), emerged from the election Tuesday night with a narrow lead over Murkowski, an incumbent who assumed the seat from her father.

But officials are still counting absentee ballots in the close race and a lawyer for the GOP Senate campaign committee is heading to Alaska to assist the senator.

"We are looking right now to make sure that the election - that the votes - are accounted for fairly, without any type of game play," Miller said in an interview on Fox Business Network. "It concerns us any time somebody lawyers up and tries to pull an Al Franken, if you will. We are very concerned that there may be some attempt here to skew the results."

Alaska officials will start counting absentee ballots next Tuesday, but observers expect a protracted process to determine the winner.

8. no, the rule george w. moron* used was to use fixed electronic voting machines
and get installed by a right wing supreme court who violated the constitution.

this whole grudge battle of the stupids in alaska is nothing more than sour grapes.

Al Frankin won because all the votes were counted.

george w. moron* "won" because NOT all of the votes were counted.

3. You mean not mindlessly conceding without knowing the exact vote count?
Not exercising her constitutional right to fair elections?

4. Does he mean live in a state with a generally clean and strong election system that gets an accurate
count of the votes, no matter how long it takes?

10. Perhaps ... Coleman so sullied himself that he is done in Minnesota.
Seriously, most people here view him as the whiny little child that he portrayed himself to be after the election, one whose every move and speech was controlled by others. He is done in Minnesota.

7. Does he mean ABIDE BY STATE LAW?
The state of Minnesota - with one of the cleanest election records - MANDATES BY STATE LAW that an automatic recount occur in an election where the final count shows a margin of less than one percent.

Of course, Miller knows this.

13. More accurately, shouldn't that be "pull a Norm Coleman"????
Norm was the incumbent who was defeated in a close election and refused to concede.

And are we to assume from his comments that Miller has not "lawyered up" as well?

I think Mr. Miller owes Al Franken an apology. Not holding my breath though.

14. Uncoveering fraud in election that's what Franken did. He
found the republicans in Hinkypinky County were fudging the votes and got caught in their own game. Gee good catch Franken.
