God! I hate Ronald Reagan the racist

I am reading the last campaign and the story of MLK's assassination came up.

Here is Reagan's theory and quote on MLK's death.

He issued a statement that it was a "great tragedy that began when we started compromising with law and order, and people(i.e.,King) started choosing which laws they'd break.

In other words he blamed King for his own assassination.

This is followed by the opening of his campaign in '80 in Philadelphia, MS

Finally, The welfare queen stories.

Why is this piece of scum looked up to?

Okay, there was the photo-op with the Taliban where he called them the "founding fathers", but I don't think he realized they were human. He lived in a sterilized white-bread bubble. Curiously, so many years later, the shrub lived in the same bubble. I didn't think ANYONE could be dumber than Reagan until Quayle came along. Then I couldn't think anyone could be dumber than him until the shrub came along. Now we've got Palin. Knock me down and fuck me sideways is that wrong.
