Well Mr. President, was it worth it?

Was it worth throwing the LGBT community under the bus the day you took office? After all, you pissed off a key section of your constituency, yet you're apparently not getting a thing back in return. So was it worth it?

"The letter, signed by more than 70 pastors and other Christian leaders, calls on the media and other public officials to offer "no further airtime" or attention to those who suggest Obama is a Muslim, not a Christian. The reaction comes after a recent Pew poll found that nearly 1 American in 5 believes Obama is Muslim — an increase over a year ago.

Still, CBN's David Brody noticed one prominent evangelical who hasn't spoken up in Obama's defense: Rick Warren, the founder of Saddleback Church, and author of the best-selling book "The Purpose Driven Life."

17. I think it was a pretty sly political move, personally.

Coporate Democrats have been itching under their majority status since 2006. Remember the ridiculous maneuvering Reid had to do in order to let conservative legislation pass? That was bad enough, but getting majorities in both houses of Congress was even worse. It made their game way too obvious. I mean Christ, how about that Olympia Snowe crap. 'We had to dump it all and push an old Republican plan, to get Olympia Snowe's vote! Yeah, that's the ticket!'.

It's not fooling anyone. I suspect a lot of the corporate Democrats, of which Obama is the current mascot, would prefer to see the Dems hold only paper-thin majorities in Congress, or even paper-thin minorities.

Generally if you scratch somebody's back in the manner that Obama scratched Warren's back, you generally expect some sort of support or favor in return. At the time it was the excuse for this act of Obama's was that he was reaching out to the evangelical community. You would think that they would have the decency to reach out in return. Apparently not, and Obama apparently made a bad political calculation, pissing off some of his ardent supporters in exchange for the sound of silence.
