Just my opinion, but am thinking Beck is doing his "thang" today because
he and FAUX News are doing a test run on Beck possibly being the Tea Party Presidential candidate for 2012.

I could be way off base here, but what's coming to our government in 2012 already looks like a bigger shit storm than the lead up to the Bush Regime takeover.

6. I agree
Beck doesn't have the will to be a candidate, he couldn't cry on TV like he does now.

2. That would be freakin' awesome...
We've got tons of his batshit crazy sayings to use against him over and over and over again. Obama would kick his punk ass in a debate. I'd love it.

It'll never happen, but the thought is a delicious one.

13. +1 and I think he would even be better for us than Sarah Palin.
Glenn Beck and the other broadcasters get on our nerves because they and their fans are acutely annoy our sense of integrity in political discourse, but the truth is that they represent probably a little more than the roughly 25% of right-wing loyalists (think Bush*'s approval rating at it's lowest) and that's it.

15. I would also add that if he ran, it could still help us even if he did not win.
Edited on Sat Aug-28-10 03:12 PM by LoZoccolo
Let's say that he gets a low-enough percentage of the Republican primary vote that everyone knows that he is not going to win it. After a while, his supporters would pretty much be up for grabs once this is apparent, and the other candidates might have to start acting more like Glenn Beck to try to get these voters, which could alienate them from the more mainstream voters.

18. Faux is at the very bottom of his income producing projects.
He also does publishing and public speaking. If Fox went belly up tomorrow, it probably wouldn't hurt him all that much.

7. Rumor here has it
that Beck will be announcing Sarah's candidacy in Anchorage on 9/11 when he is scheduled to appear here. The thought makes me throw up in my mouth, actually.

12. Thanks for the info
Sounds perfectly credible, and being the kingmaker--or queenmaker--does have advantages. Palin wouldn't have a chance--or a prayer--in the general, but can you imagine her in the Oval Office, announcing a new Cabinet position of Glenn Beckkk as High Prophet?

8. No, but brilliant srategy...
by the leaders of the Teabaggers, who of course are Beck and Palin. I watched it on C-Span and it was nothing but an attempt to paint themselves in the most religious, humane, non-racist, and caring people in the world. They knew they would have a larger audience, they knew it would get coverage by all the major media. Beck explicitly told his sheep to not bring signs, guns, knives, bags, or anything that could be construed as weapons. I read the info, it was there, might be taken down now. It was like a Joel Olsteen rally or a morning in church - with the intent to prove to the non-watchers - all the slander directed at the Teabaggers direction was a lie.

Now they can bloat about how peaceful it was, and Fixed News can yap endlessly about - look, no violence, no guns, no signs - see the evil left has been the ones that called us all these names so they are the liars.

Just more smoke and mirrors from the king of lies, deceit, and half truths - Beck. I'll even bet Pills Limbaugh will ratchet this exact thing up first thing on his show Monday - which seems to set the tone and subject for the rest of the nutters each week. Hannity will do the same come 3:00.

14. Great replies all 'round!
Did not know that there's a rumor re: announcing Palin as candidate on 9/11.

And, you all are right re: Fux News seeking the MSM spotlight for more sponsors. Who better to be the whipping post boy and show the world how humble he (and Fux News) can really be.

Love the insights here. Thx! :hi:

21. Beckk is an alcoholic and admitted drug user. That would shut him down before he even started
It is rare to give a security clearance to admitted drug users. Beck could never pass the NCIS investigation.
