1. Was it EyeBuyDirect.com?
They're the one I use. I got my glasses (frames, lenses, shipping and all) for less than $30.00. And they did a great job.

3. I use Zenni.
http://www.zennioptical.com

Their glasses are made in China ... I have no apologies for getting my eyeglasses there. I end-up buying a great many things made in China. I wish I didn't have to, but that is the sad state of our economy.

I just bought two pairs of progressive lens specs, one a pair of prescription sunglasses -- both pair cost me $80 total.

At any storefront glasses place these would have cost me at least $200-$300 or more. So, the savings are just too significant to pass up.

Maybe when this depression finally is over in four of five years, I can go back to patronizing a local glasses store.

5. I've used FramesDirect.com
even sent them frames to add the lenses...

'Don't know that they are as cheap as some, but I certainly saved a lot over the local optician and certainly over Lenscrafter.
