As promised I will report from the New Orleans Clinic that many of you helped fund. I don't know if they will let me take pictures inside the convention center but I'll do my best, and if not... I'll get some good ones on Bourbon Street after the clinic closes :)

I picked up the rental car at DFW this morning and headed out blasting the blues station on Sirius radio; it made the trip flow... listened to a good interview with Charlie Musselwhite http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AtMvv34LAmI When that was over I listened to VP Joe Biden's latest speech "Recovery Act Innovation Report" http://www.whitehouse.gov/the-press-office/2010/08/24/remarks-vice-president-joe-biden-recovery-act-innovation-report-event and his responses to John Boener's speech about the Rebublican's (non) thoughts on the economy, on the POTUS station... Then back to more blues.

I hit a couple of serious downpours and had to slow down for a bit and took a couple of side trips just to enjoy the countryside. I should have gotten more pictures to share but I was having too much fun sightseeing :eyes: I got a quick picture at the first rest stop in Louisiana and the only other is the awesome blackened catfish meal I got at the local hole in the wall restaurant that I took back to the hotel to enjoy (don't normally eat fish, but just once in awhile love Louisiana Catfish!). Tomorrow morning is setup at 9am in the convention center and will report back tomorrow night.

the weather is shit lately, although not as shit as five years ago but still..shit

you're a brave person to come on down and fight some of the hairy driving required to get through these sudden rainstorms

me, i'm giving up and flying out of town for a few days but i'm a bit of an idler

i look forward to reading more of your story

2. I love the downpours

I worked in LaPlace a couple of months ago and we had thunderstorms almost everyday. No complaints from me. I really don't enjoy the south as a rule but I love Louisiana.

I know that a lot of people here have donated money and I was able to talk my supervisor into letting me have a couple days to work here... (we really need universal coverage! but until we do...)
