5. Really? What rallies were these? |
|
Because every single rally I've been to had nearly as many signs as attendees!
Some of my earliest childhood memories are of helping my mother with rally signs... I came by it all honestly, I guess!

11. Teresa Hines Kerry rally in 2004 |
|
we brought our own signs & were not allowed to bring them in. Let's see, there was also the Ted Kennedy rally for Obama in 2008---no outside signs allowed....and a few others I've attended that I can't recall off-hand. All no-signs rallies; we had to use signs provided for us.

7. There ARE offensive signs at democratic events - |
|
carried by the right wing-nut protesters. At the March for Women's Lives in DC, 2004, there was a group of wonderful women and men whose job it was to block the aborted fetus signs from sight with large signs of their own. It was peaceful and secure for everyone marching past the sick protesters.

8. Every single Campaign appearance by Kerry/Edwards in Minnesota... |
|
....was a Strictly Enforced "No Signs" event. You were permitted to hold up 8-1/2 X 11" campaign signs, but NO posts or sticks allowed, and NOTHING over 8-1/2 X 11.

Every Kerry/Edwards and Obama/Biden rally (plus some of the larger primary Obama events, eg, the Oprah thing)had a no signs policy.

10. It depended on who was running the event. |
|
Union rallies and anti-war marches were free-for-alls, but anything for a specific candidate usually had signs specified.
