I would guess, and I have nothing to back this up, that most professional athletes would do anything short of killing themselves to win.

but to pretend that steroids and other performance-enhancing drugs aren't a problem is disingenuous. I happen to think that (prescription) drugs are a huge problem in our society right now anyway, but one of the pernicious effects of some of these is that it's trickling down to high schoolers (probably even younger) and the young athletes are very pressured to use them. Then they have lifelong problems. Look at the suicides in pro wrestling. Look at the support groups for women who have been abused by steroid users. I think it's a problem for a lot more people than those who use the PE drugs.

But he isn't the only one who has, allegedly, lied to Congress. Why is he the only one facing a trial when so many liars went before them and practically spit in the face of Congress?

10. He was accused of possession of Schedule III controlled drugs without a prescription.

Namely, Winstrol and Human Growth Hormone.

He took the rather stupid step of voluntarily testifying in front of Congress to try to "clear his name".

Apparently there is enough evidence to suggest that his statements were lies, and that in fact he was using drugs illegally.

Hence, the one count of obstruction of Congress, three counts of making false statements and two counts of perjury.
