Lets just boil it down, Republican ideology is
an appeal to greed/fear.

Democratic ideology is an appeal to egalitarianism.

The latter more closely resembles and is essentially based on the social justice teachings of most religions.

Yet, because Democratic policymakers are loathe to point out the former on a consistent basis we have allowed the Repukes to establish a veritable chokehold on religious people.

Democratic politicians have to start consistently pointing out the inconsistencies in the Republican's appeal to voters vis a vis their policies.

But Noooooooooooooooo instead we keep trying to not offend them.

Fuck!

1. Screw religious people.
We need to move beyond their bullshit. Not appeal to their delusional ideas of an invisible sky buddy.

2. I respectfully disagree
Although I share your disdain for basing one's life on what some magic man on a cloud allegedly says (subject to whoever is channeling him/her) it's politically foolish to ignore or mock them.

That doesn't mean that you kiss their ass or have fake ass prayer breakfasts, instead it just means that our side has to keep pointing out that our policies are far more congruent with their religions core principles while the Repukes policies do not.

5. If the so-called "religious" people don't already recognize...

that literally cheering on war, judging others' lifestyles and wishing them harm, and turning a blind eye to those who suffer in poverty aren't in alignment with the tenets of their faith, they're religious hypocrites and no pandering will reach them.

They hear what they want to hear and see what they want to see.

I don't believe we need to mock religion or those who profess to be religious, as there are no doubt many who aren't hypocrites; I have no desire to insult them if they truly live their faith.

Yet to try to get people -- take the teabaggers or the Moral Majority crowd -- to see the error of their ways feels useless.

IMHO.

:)

4. Heck! I am all for offending them again and again and again. Then
lets offend them some more. When they threaten to filibuster needed legislation or nominations....let them, then make them keep it up until they all drop where they stand.....dare them to do it.....Every responsible registered Adult needs to go to the polls in November and vote.

There is a rather nasty Senate race going on here in Washington State. The republican candidate has twice tried to unseat our governor and failed twice. So now, he is going after one of our Senators...and every time I see one of his ads, I have a very strong urge to stand up and yell " YOU LIE!" His ads sound just like the ads he ran against our Governor, those ads did not work then and I do not think they will work this time either. If the people in Washington state did not want him as governor, what makes him think that we want to send him to the other Washington yo represent us there.

6. Republican ideology: "BP, I'm sorry Obama is picking on you"
Not: "BP you fuckers, your lax safety history, your love of the dollar over worker safety KILLED 11 good people. You need to pay."

Republican ideology: You can die, your child can die, you can lose your job tomorrow and lose your house 6 months later and Republicans will call you lazy and insinuate you do not want to work because you MAKE SO MUCH MONEY ON UNEMPLOYMENT! Let's make sure to extend the tax cuts for the top 2%.
Keep putting industry insiders in charge of "oversight" of those industries. Keep cutting regulations.

Republicans have no care for the average American citizen, we could all die tomorrow and they would only allow corporations to entice more illegals over the border to fill the gap.

7. It's the use of greedl/fear for a REASON
The acquisition of wealth, power and influence. That's their only goal.

And they go STRAIGHT for it, no matter the social cost or extenuating circumstances such as human lives, grinding poverty or grave injustices.

It's their way of life.

8. All Republican goals ultimately boil down to restoring the two-tiered society.
They used to state it flatly, back in the 1800's, and every generation afterwards-- right up until... the 30's or so? Then it became something that you saw only in the upper-tier of their publications, and even then, they dressed it up a bit.

That's what they're ultimately about. They think society should consist of a small, super wealthy class for whom the laws do not apply, and a vast pool of disenfranchised poor for the wealthy to exploit. The fact that they have an sizable number of poor and middle class supporters is almost funny.

and destroying any regulations that inhibit them. So ya' servants of the most wealthy. That's problematic when they also happen to be greedy sociopaths.

Unfortunately our government is basically owned by about six large corporate special interests.

too many fake Dems to say what they stand for today, I have to go back to Johnson, Kennedy, FDR, etc.

Wait-I have a modern list, from outside the U.S. but tell me what you(everyone/anyone) think:

Ideology and issues

The party has a democratic-socialist ideology. In its manifesto of principles it calls for a society where human dignity, equality and solidarity are most important. Its core issues are employment, social welfare and investing in public education, public safety and health care. The party opposes privatisation of public services and is critical of globalization.
