In the book, Winston recalls when the enemy of Oceana was no longer Eurasia, it was Eastasia. As you may remember, there was a rally supporting the war that he had to attend. Someone was giving a speech about the war with Eurasia, and someone comes up on stage and gives the speaker a note. Midstream, the speaker seamlessly switches his vitriol toward Eastasia. In one moment, everyone assimilated this without thought and went with it. Well, on the way home I listen to Rusty Humphries (because it is good to know what these asshats are thinking). He, like other hosts, always talk about the "democrat" party- I have never heard him, or his callers, say "democratic" party. Well, he was speaking, and ended up saying "Democratic Party". I was like- WTF? Then, his next 4 callers brought up the "democratic party". I was really quite stunned, surprised I didn't crash. The pukes are up to something.
