Just saw an amazing History Channel doc on the Dust Bowl........ |
|
And it is amazing how the US Government "Soil Conversion Service" saved the great plains from being ruined.
In three years this GOVERNMENT RUN program stopped the dust bowl that had destroyed the plains for 10 years.
It is amazing how many people (GOP Idiots) think the government cannot actually do any good when there are so many examples when they do!!!

19. Really great, and the book by Timothy Egan is unforgettable - I highly |
|
recommend "The Worst Hard Time" by Timothy Egan for anyone who is interested in this topic who has not already ready the book. I think it's really the best book I've ever read, honestly.

5. If it's the one with Timothy Egan, it was a good one. Read his |
|
book, "The Worse Hard Time ". You will never think we are suffering all that much when you read about how awful that time was. I don't know how folks made it through, really I don't.

17. You won't regret the purchase. And I have a friend who just |
|
got a kindle, and she wants me to consider one, but every book I've looked at on Amazon is never more than a buck over the cost of the download. I donate or resell my books too, rather have the real deal.

The history channel does great work, when the subject doesnt have anything to do with the END OF TIMES!, I really cant wait for december 23rd 2012 so all that bullshit goes away.

by looking at other countries, there are Giant dust storms in China and Africa right now, 2 areas where the governments only care about power just like the republicans

12. Just finished watching it. Very impressive coming from the "History" channel. |
|
They said what had happened and there were no strawmen arguments from the other side trying to dispute the facts of what had happened.

18. What the GOP says is that they don't want government, not that it doesn't work |
|
The government works for us, the middle class and it works for the poor, although I think it should do more. What the GOP want it for government to get off rich people's backs by regulating them. The want unfettered Capitalism where their buddies can have a lower class slave labor. Think of Schindler's list with industrialists having slave labor while they live the high life.
