I've finally reached the point where I can't listen to Malloy anymore!
I have to listen online because I live in GEORGIA! There are NO progressive radio hosts HERE! It never bothered me that he used rough language, or even criticized President Obama once in a while. I criticize him too once in a while too, but Mike has just gone too far. His attitude is turning into near hate. He wanted Obama to loosen his tie tonight and say that we've beeninvolvd in commiting war cromes for the past eight years and I'm here to guarantee tht it willSTOP. I'm pulling all the troops out of Iraq & Afghanistan starting tomorrow, now get the camera out of my face!

Mike said he listened to as much of Obama's speech as he could stand, and then he's contining to rip apart everything the President said, no matter what it was

He's finally lost me as a fan. I can't stand to listen to his hatred of Dems anymore.

1. Yep, he lost me shortly after Obama won.
Life is not perfect - I'd like to see how he would have handled what Obama faced.

Obama is class - Malloy is a decrepit old man.

14. Obama has done more good for this country than anyone else could have.
I understand exactly why Obama has done what he has done. He is slowly turning the ship of state around --- despite the most awful well-funded opposition ever. Obama hands down.

"you speak like a teapartier"

"ridicule is not an argument"

I'm not buying the corporatist Pelosi's fudged numbers, like saying Clinton had a $6 Trillion surplus, not even close.

"I've seen it happen time after time. When the Democratic candidate allows himself to be put on the defensive and starts apologizing for the New Deal and the fair Deal, and says he really doesn't believe in them, he is sure to lose. The people don't want a phony Democrat. If it's a choice between a genuine Republican, and a Republican in Democratic clothing, the people will choose the genuine article, every time; that is, they will take a Republican before they will a phony Democrat, and I don't want any phony Democratic candidates in this campaign."---Harry Truman

Here's one example:

"The exchange will require that all the plans offered are at least as generous as the new public plan and meet the same standards for quality and efficiency."

7. I know that, but for God sake, NOTHNG is ever right for him.
Not right, not even OK anymore.

I listen to progressive radio all day long. Most if no all the other hosts criticize Dems & the President sometimes, but not ALL THE TIME!

Norm Goldman, who probably criticizes Obama the most said something the other nit that really made sense to me. A caller asked him WHY he criticizes Obama & the ems so much when the Pubs rarely if ever do tht to their own. He said the Pubs are a top down regimented organization and they wait to be told what to think & do. We Dems aren't like that. WE THINK & have opinions. The Pubs also never question anything the're told. Anytime I get the smallest thing wrong or prceived to be wrong, I get dozens of emails correcting me. We are expected to always tell the facts & prove them when asked. He then used this as an example. When I related the story about a horrible car crash where an entire family was killed due to the accelerator sticking on a car I said it was a toyota. I got 4 doz. emails telling me I was wrong, that it was a Lexus. They were right, but Toyota OWNS Lexus and I simply had referred to the parent company. RW talk show hosts NEVER get questioned like that. Not even when theytell blatant LIES!

I guess that's why Malloy is pissing me off so much. I know the Dems aren't always right but I dont believe they deerve the kind of hatred he's spewing lately.

corporate or political sponsors. If you don't believe in a "market place of ideas" where you can hear some things that may make you uncomfortable, just listen to those that reflect your own prejudices like the repukes who tune into FUX 24/7 to get their own prejudices reflected back to them.

6. Admittedly I haven't listened to Mike for a while.
Lately I just don't have the time, trying to survive an all, but I have been a listening Truthseeker for over tens years and I have only known Mike to be a 'hater' of two things. Serial killers and republicans. What Mike has is passion, more passion than a thousand of us put together. And he doesn't forget much.

Countless frustrations fueled by a raging passion, yes, but not hatred.

I find it necessary to take a break from his show once in a while to wind down and regroup. Malloy is an extremely intense guy and I can't say I disagree with him. I have lost two family members, one in the military and one a US Aid worker and had george fucking w. bush not started this whole bullshit mess they might both still be alive today.

The truth hurts and few want to face it.

Ask yourself WHY Obama didn't get out of Iraq his FIRST day in office.

That he waited almost TWO more years to do anything speaks volumes.

War is NOT Peace.

Edited on Wed Sep-01-10 12:28 AM by Ozymanithrax
Opinions are like assholes, all earthly mammals have one. They are forfeited once we move off the mortal coil, unless you are a character in Heinlein's Job, where there was a Hamburger joint in heaven.

And I do appreciate you answering this way, since I just painted my wall and handwriting on the wall would require me to paint it again.

25. I hope you can find another radio host to listen to...
you should definitely not give up, search the internet; but if you can't deal with Mike then maybe you never really got him, or maybe you just can't take his style and would be more receptive to the message delivered another way, nothing wrong in that.
I can only listen now and then but Mike speaks for me, he does not represent hate, but the anger, fury even at the sick waste of our amazing potential; shown to us in the
the daily grind of indignity faced by people all over the country, or the sad state of living constantly in the world of diminishing morality, where some who call themselves progressives or liberals eat the filthy lies willingly that they once refused to stomach.

There are many progressive ( real ones) voices out there that would be a better fit for you,
but Mike Malloy was my antidote tonight to the rage I felt listening to President Obama validate Bush, which is what he did.
Can you imagine yourself as a progressive president?
Would you call Bush as Obama did?

The list of Obama shrug offs grows every week, and this one stank.
I do not want this to be so, but I will not hide from it and pretend it is not so

I don't listen to/watch any of these talk show hosts/pundits/opinion journalists anymore. They are about money, they are businesspeople first and foremost. They say whatever will maximize their audience and maximize profits for their corp sponsors.

That being said, I found Malloy too angry to listen to a long time ago.

I haven't seen Mike Malloy in 20 years but I know he is not, was never 'out for himself' and will not 'say things to maximise profits.'That's not true in any way.

Malloy as a journalist used to be happier. Times were different in the late 80s. But the man has integrity and dedication to progressive ideals.
