I stopped listening after Obama spoke at West Point about increasing troops in that wasteland of Afghanistan. How Bushian to use a captive audience, in a military setting for such BS. After:

- the non public option, health insurance cave-in
- the all clear in the Gulf
- the ongoing belittling of teachers
- the Alan Simpson/Deficit Commission

and so much more (e.g. Geithner, Summers, Rahm, Gibbs, Arne), I find that Obama actually grates on me more than Bush. With GWB, getting screwed was expected, but Obama's hope... change and yes, we can mantra... rings quite hollow now and that's being euphemistic.

I told my husband I'm having a 1980s moment. I'm going back to the apathy I felt right after the Carter/Reagan election & my incredible disappointment in Americans being conned by a second-rate actor & the whole Iranian hostage affair. That apathy attack lasted 20 years. ~sigh.
