Glenn Beck seems to have been nailed by the men and women who protected the nation's most prized political documents: The National Archives.

While speaking during his "Restoring Honor" rally Saturday, Beck said that he'd held an original speech given by George Washington.

Beck remarked, "I held the first inaugural address written in his own hand by George Washington."

Mother Jones' Stephanie Mencimer destroys the claim in an Mother Jones' Wednesday. The National Archives says Beck never held the document in his hands.

7. Was That Another One Of His "Morning Zoo" Radio Pranks?

See, I think, of all people, Howard Stern has figured out the PERFECT way to marginalize Glenn Beck. Whenever people get all upset about Glenn Beck, he completely laughs it off and asks them how they can ever take seriously a guy who, until a few years ago, was the "wacky morning guy" on a "Morning Zoo" radio program. Now all of a sudden we're supposed to take him seriously? The guy's a joke.

That kinda reminds me of that Frank Zappa quote someone posted a while back that said the best way to counter the right is to laugh at them. If WE don't take them seriously, no one else will either. So, whenever you hear anyone talking about Glenn Beck, just drop in a reference to the "Morning Zoo" DJ days, and soon you'll find you're talking about something else entirely.

Trust me, Glenn Beck is the Backstreet Boys of the right-wing. Huge for about a minute, then dead.
