Are the Democrats waiting until after Labor Day to start campaigning?
Edited on Wed Sep-01-10 08:39 PM by Proud Liberal Dem
Things have been awful quiet and it seems like the "teabaggers" and Republicans are dominating the airwaves right now and it sounds like the corps are going to hit the Dems hard on or around Labor Day but the Democratic National Committee seems eerily silent despite sitting on a pretty sizable war chest. Are the DNC and Democratic candidates in general just letting the pukes wear themselves out before ramping things up after Labor Day? Given their relative silence so far, I would tend to believe that this is their strategy. And no, I don't honestly believe that they are trying to "tank" the election either.

Thoughts? Opinions? Inside information?

1. Tim Kaine...AWOL.
It was a mistake to not keep Howard Dean. A big one.

2. Every August it is the same thing.... GOP surges.... then falls behind once the REAL
campaign starts.

3. I think some other people have made the same suggestion in other threads
I remember how crazy it got around here in August 2008 but then what happened between then and that November. :headbang: I'm about guessing that the Dems are planning their campaigning around a similar theory.

4. I do think compressed campaigns are a good idea these days
24/7 news, and 24/7 fake news have changed the game in the past 4 years.

The Dems are going to come out strong and loud, I'm not worried at all.

5. The Democrats have for decades ....
Stumbled along, unable to enunciate a clear vision of WHO they are, WHAT they believe in and WHY they believe in it ...

Elections dont win themselves ... You cannot win hearts and minds by sitting in a corner and singing 'la la la' to yourself ....

All while the peasants with pitchforks clamor for heads on pikes ....

WHERE are the Democrats ? .. who is their philosopher-spokesperson ?

Who is hurling anathemas from the hilltops ?

Not a one ... even Obama seems cowed and unable to speak up ...

Pitiful ...

6. In PA, they seem to be waiting, waiting, waiting to counter TV ads by Toomey and Corbett, and
the Kochs.
