How is the war economy working for you?

At the U.S. Social Forum, members of VFP wanted to draw a parallel between the destruction of city infrastructure with the massive amount of money invested in our war economy. To do this, the group made a banner and hung it from one of the many abandoned buildings in Detroit's urban area.

Veterans For Peace has been a leading voice in exposing the costs of war - and this banner drop has excited folks to repeat the action in their own areas.

The United States spends more than the next 45 highest spending countries in the world combined.
The United States accounts for 46.5 percent of the world's total military spending.
