Forgive me if this has been covered, but is it true there's already an actual mosque in s Manhattan?

I looked a few pages back in the discussion threads and couldn't find something about this, but I thought I read something here about there already being a mosque near the site of the WTC attack site. Is this true. I'm going to probably have an argument with a conservative friend tonight and I'd like to go in armed with some actual facts.

Unfortunately, googling "that other mosque ground zero" isn't very productive of good info today.
