Over 1300 people cared for at the clinic in NOLA
Thanks to all here who donated. I did not get pictures of patients that I can post here, but got many of the volunteers and general area. It was a wonderful experience and hope to get to the next clinic in December (in Charlotte, NC). I was a patient escort and heard many personal stories, gave hugs and fell in love with the people here. I talked with a number of women who lost insurance when their husband left (or retired) and many who never had any. The first picture is of Barbara, who also volunteers with Hospice in the New Orleans area. She is still in a FEMA trailer and her house that is uninhabitable keeps getting put on the back burner of those scheduled to be repaired. She had wonderful spirit and I had great fun working with her; and all the others.

3. we all got back
as much as we gave... it was great fun; laughs, hugs, good food and some crying too... lots of stories. I drove in from Dallas, but there were so many that flew in from around the country and people that took their only vacation to be there

besides, I got to be on MSNBC and visit the French Quarter nearby!

6. I worked the Hartford CT one in Feb. and had the same
experience/feelings. I highly recommend it to everyone. They are a highly organizied group and a pleasure to work with. They paid our parking, too - no small thing in Hartford. I think it was $22 for the day.

7. I also recommend this organization. I worked at the first NOLA clinic
last year and was absolutely amazed by the whole operation and the dignity they treat everyone with.
