I daily read Our Daily Bleed, but one entry caught my eye today.
1915 -- Australia: Sterling work from the syndicalist Industrial
Workers of the World — Wobbly Tom Barker is arrested for
his anti-war poster,

"Workers, follow your masters: stay at home".

Anti-recruiting efforts finally get him 12 months
hard labour. He is released after only 3 months,
following a series of fires in stores & factories.
Is there a connection?

"For every day Barker is in jail,
it will cost the capitalists £10,000."

Clearly, in those long distant days capitalists could be convinced to be more cautious when labor unions and Capitalists fought for the right to work and the right to profit.
