First Medical Marijuana Ad! With a recent "eight in ten" poll that shows Americans support medical marijuana in large numbers, television station KXTL in Sacramento, California has now aired the first-ever medical marijuana dispensary ad, reports consumerist.com.
Using "cannabis" instead of words like marijuana or pot, the company CannaCare, a medical marijuana organization, created the ad that station executives felt was appropriate to be the first-ever of its kind aired on a television station.
Said the KXTL general managment, "When viewers watch the
on air, they can see it's simply identifying this as an avenue to take if your doctor thinks it will help you feel better."
According to their website, CannaCare's primary mission "is to educate patients and health care providers in all aspects of the safe cultivation and consumption of marijuana for medicinal and therapeutic purposes."
