unhappycamper note: Since the ‘Pentagon’ has ‘requested’ that I only post one paragraph from articles on Army Times, and Airforce Times, I’ve decided to give ya’ll an unhappycamper summary of the article and a link to the OP. To keep in that same (new) tradition, I will also do the same for for articles on Navy Times, Marine Corps Times, stripes.com and military.com.
To read the article in the military's own words, you will need to click the link.
(This space reserved for a legally correct snark dump.) It sure is beginning to smell like fascism.
unhappycamper summary of this article: Since we are paying $1 million dollars per year per American soldier on the ground in Afghanistan, another $36.4 billion doesn't seem all that much. But when you compare this to the measly $50 billion Obama is going to spend fixing up our roads, it really makes me wonder who's on first. Obviously it ain't We The People.
The Obama administration has boosted the training mission in preparation for next year’s drawdown. The United States spent over $20 billion on training between 2003 and 2009 and expects to spend about the same this year and next alone.
