1. Well that just puts them in the same position that the Democrats were in, circa 2006

3. It doesn't matter
The electorate right now is in a frothing rage at the fact that no matter who gets elected, the government serves only the elites. They will continue to "toss the bums out" until they find one that actually responds to the needs of the people.

8. But we got exactly that with D's
"hope and change"

What has really changed? After almost two years of unified Democratic governance there's not a single major positive change that anyone (rational) can point to. We're still in two wars on the other side of the planet, the banking system still gets to freely run roughshod over the people, we're still throwing good money after bad into the housing bubble, still bailing people out left and right, our laws are still being written by lobbyists, etc. etc. etc.

5. Apparently, their "plan" is to raise taxes on the poor and middle class . . .
. . . while, AS USUAL, letting the rich off with a lottery or two:

Some plan. But is the American public going to even question it?

"Just so longs as they's ain't Commie Dumbacraps, AH don't CAR!"

Like I said before . . . America is going to pay a GRAVE price for being slooooooooow learners. It's hilarious that voters "DON'T WANT NO GUBMINT CONTROL OVER NUTHIN!!" yet have absolutely no problem with allowing a corporation or an insurance conglomerate make all these decisions FOR them. They have absolutely NO problem allowing the wealthy to be the FIRST ones considered in ANY national policy being created. They have absolutely NO problem with letting the wealthy off easy.

It's amazing what you can do when you have your own TV station.

9. It doesn't matter - Democrats are supposed to be in charge
but, the economy has been stumbling along for a year. It doesn't matter that Republics have blocked most meaningful reform - the public doesn't notice those things.

13. Yes, since the Democratic brand has crumbled into dust
Edited on Tue Sep-07-10 01:14 PM by 0rganism
The Republicans correctly perceived that all they had to do to regain power was prevent the Democrats from fixing the mess they created over the last decade. Now they will return to power, allow some portion of the necessary fixes to proceed for which they will claim all credit, while continuing to loot the wealth of the nation on behalf of the robber barons, and the electorate will reward them for doing it.

The Democrats rode to their majority on a message of hope. The Republicans have undercut that message completely, so now cynicism and greed will rule the day.
