Actually, there are some good names there. One sort of leapt out at me...Thomas Tunney. Tom Tunney is the openly gay alderman representing Lakeview. That could be interesting. :-)

I don't know what this douchebag's game is but I can't think of one positive thing he has accomplished for the President.

IMO he is behind the disastrous ongoing attempts at "bipartisanship" that have done nothing but dilute the effect of any legislation this WH has proposed.

And he sure hasn't been silent when it comes to belittling the "base" that got this President elected.

I have no proof of this but I believe Obama was forced to hire him as a condition of Hillary backing away from a nomination challenge at the 2008 convention.

Even if that's true, and he was pressured to take him on, he is under no obligation to keep him and he ought to send his sorry ass packing ASAP.

He probably won't but if an appeal to his vanity could get him to run for the office, he'd have to be replaced. I don't care if he actually gets elected mayor or not, as long as he quits in order to run.

37. I'd RATHER he be in Chicago than in Washington...

Kind of like I WANTED DiFi to run in the recall election that put Arny in to office in California. I wanted DiFi OUT of the Senate where she's done the most damage to replace her with someone more decent. She would do less damage as governor of California than as a senator in Washington.

Which is also why I'm glad that DeFazio did NOT run for governor here in Oregon. I really WANT him to stay in the House (or perhaps later the Senate), to continue to be a voice of reason in congress where he can have the most impact. Kitzhaber will do fine as our governor.

Emmanuel needs to eventually be put out of politics altogether, but in Chicago, he'd do less damage on the nation. Though I can completely sympathize with those in Chicago that would really like to get a more progressive leadership there.

One consequence though had DiFi ran for governor in the recall election is that she would have selected her own replacement in the Senate. Probably would have picked someone like Jane Harman, who would be a disaster as well. Probably would have been better to have just run for governor in the regular election, and let California Democrats pick who replaces her in the primary instead.
