So I'm eating a bowl of oatmeal
and I got to thinking, if ground zero can't have a Mosque could it have a Buddhist Temple?

What about an American Indian Church?

When I got to the bottom of the bowl I realized, probably not, America really wants that Christian nation.

We are becoming the bottom of the bowl in hypocrisy.

6. What teachings of Buddhism did the first pic illustrate? You know the answer to that.
None.

All 4 pics illustrate Man's inhumanity to Man.

The core teaching of all great religions is "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you." It's not, "Do unto others before they do you."

The fact that humanity keeps forgetting that doesn't invalidate the teachings, but it sure says something sad about the way people can twist them.

7. Some of the crap from Abu Ghraib came straight out of the Malleus Maleficarum ...
Since I doubt any of our "inquisitors" can read Late Medieval Latin, I guess they just went by the illustrations.

8. I get it...
See, if we digg deep enough, this intolerance really is no better than the Inquisition. you're right, once the fundies start this stuff, it will burn like gangbusters, yep teh cray is out there for sure...

We can also remember that what we are being called to do is imagine ourselves free from this type of mindwarp

we can choose to rally for equality, because that is what all religions call for, whether they get it or not...
and I think making a 'Multi-cultural center - that honors our diversities and our ideals for equalityt - may be a really bright idea, too!
