A huge subliminal shout out to women's rights, civil rights, & LGBT rights on NBC primetime tonight
Edited on Wed Sep-08-10 02:29 AM by Tx4obama
and probably the majority of folks that watched it did NOT even know what they were seeing!

Tonight on America's Got Talent Prince Poppycock performed what most people thought was just an America tribute dance routine, but there were MANY 'hidden in sight' messages :)

Here's the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cf2yI8lXe6w

Take note at the 2:24 minute mark when he says:
"We hold these truths to be self evident, all men are created equal, OF COURSE SOME ARE JUST A LITTLE MORE EQUAL THAN OTHERS!"

Shout outs to look for on the backdrop screen:
Susan B Anthony - women's rights
Rosa Parks - civil rights
Harvey Milk - LGBT rights
And don't miss the photo of Prince PoppyCock's face on the 3 dollar bill? LOL
There's is an old saying "queer as a $3 bill"
and YES Prince Poppycock IS openly gay and he had a great time being himself in the face of an America that doesn't recognize HIS civil rights.

------------------------------------------
For those of ya'll that haven't been watching America's Got Talent and don't know who Prince Poppycock is - here are a couple of his other performances WITHOUT any 'hidden in sight' messages:

1. I just adore Prince Poppycock!
The guy is enormously talented, intelligent, and beautiful inside and out.
He makes me laugh out loud, smile, cheer, feel good about things if only for a short while.

2. I only saw one episode this season, the one he first appeared on.
And I generally don't like shows of this kind much, but I thought he was great.

4. Well....
I think that most folks probably don't even realize he's gay.
There were tons of tweets on twitter last night from 'girls & women' that want to 'marry' him ;)

5. Boy, was he made up last night or what?!?!?!
I don't watch the show, because I detest reality shows. But I did happen to catch part of his presentation as I was flipping through, and he went all out. Red, white, and blue!

It must have taken a long time to do all that...he has great energy.

8. If finding one Prince Poppycock
means putting up with all the American Idol clones, so be it!

9. Just your old-fashioned ALL AMERICAN drag queen!
God, love the mix of overt unapologetic gayness and patriotism. It's just so, I don't know, it gives me tingles to think of those things together....

sometimes we forget that random entertainment stuff like this will be just as instrumental to gay rights -if not more so-than modern political discourse.

If there are just a handful of Okies out there saying, "Well, he may be a ___, but I'll give it to him that he can entertain." -a door is opening in their brains, a step has been taken to coming closer to getting over their neurosis.

11. I personally know a guy whose homophobia has been tempered by...
...drumroll please...Big Brother.

As family friends, we've watched him go from spouting the intense homophobia that is all too typical of this area to rooting for the gay character on Big Brother this season (I don't watch the show so I don't know his name). When you attach a human being to a social classification, you add a dimension that makes blind hatred difficult for any decent person to maintain.

Maybe there IS some tiny little value to Reality TV after all.

12. It was fantastic.
I voted for Prince Poppycock and I hope you guys did too!

I would love to have an openly gay gender bending winner this year!

13. He has a great voice, but that was so over the top awful!
And I won't be surprised if he wins. It's great what he's doing, but I can't really watch to much of it!

Yes, did love the graphics, he's got a sly sense of humor.

15. Yes!!! I am thrilled! Next Tuesday is the final performance, & Wednesday the results.

Here's the video of when AGT announced he'd be in the top four: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BdSSzBn9qx8

Prince Poppycock: "You know I want to say to every kid out there that feels picked on and feels like an outsider I want you to believe that life is magical and I want you to look at me right now and understand that dreams can come true. "
