Why don't we airlift all the book burning fundie Christians and all the book burning fundie Muslims to the plain of Armageddon and let them kill each other OFF, until the last one on each side is kaput and sanity becomes reality?

Explain to me, how the Fundie Christan is any more sane or civilized than a Fundie Muslim?

1. Excellent idea IMO. let the matter and anti-matter fight it out and annihilate

each other. And the rest of us can get on with living our lives in peace than having them fight over god and hatred, and whom is the most godly. What a load of crap this sheer nonsense is... how can a civilization move forward with these fools in tow.

4. "Thy neighbor" actually means other Jews.

JC was a Jew if he existed and was speaking within the context of Judaism. I suppose present day Christians read that directive in different ways including the all-inclusive view that liberals tend to embrace and the just-our-tiny-sub-denomination that Fundies accept.

3. Both sides are equally idiotic.

And that idiocy extends to the offense each side takes at the "desecration" of copies of its religious books.

I am loathe to call it insanity, though. If one accepts the basic premise of each religion, the extremist views of militant Christians and Muslims are the logical result of that premise. If one accepts that the Christian Bible is the one true divine revelation and that all other purported revelations amount to a one-way ticket to eternal damnation, then protesting that rival revelation is a moral imperative. And the reverse is also true. If the Quran is the one true revelation and if God is as sensitive about that book as Muslims claim, then it becomes a moral imperative to do anything possible to prevent it from happening least people suffer from God's bad temper.

6. They interpret it all for what best serves them at the time. I threw all

religion out of my life eons ago as sheer nonsense. It's all a matter of how one is programmed in life. If born in opposite physical locations, their beliefs would be antithetical to the ones they hold now, they would be fighting themselves. That's how ridiculous this crap gets. Most of them really need some psychological counseling. In life, the god word often gets a free pass, well, and a tax break. That is a load of crap too.

My heroes in life are Bill Maher and George Carlin.
