Obama: 'The only reason they're holding this up is politics, pure and simple'
That's what I just heard the President say (on MSNBC's live coverage of his jobs proposals speech from Cleveland) about the small business loan guarantee bill Republicans are filibustering in the Senate.

He said he recognizes there may be legitimate philosphical differences between Democrats and Republicans on some issues, but not on a small business bill supported by the Chamber of Commerce.

IMO, this is his best speech in many months.

WHAT'S YOUR OPINION?

WHAT ELSE DID YOU HEAR HIM SAY THAT YOU THOUGHT WAS POLITICALLY IMPORTANT?

2. YES--He's feeding stump speech lines to hundreds of Democratic candidates for
House, Senate, and statewide offices all over the country.

3. Keeping jobs in America, not giving tax breaks to the outsourcers.
Even the die hards gotta love that. It's all true, he was on fire with truth. Been waiting for him to come back to life, this is the President/man we voted for.

4. 'He was on fire with truth'--Reminded me of his smackdown of Rs at their Baltimore retreat
in January. Maybe somehow he could lure them into another such event late next month.

6. Whatever it takes to drive home the truth. The public has a short
memory, and they are prone to accepting disinformation from the GOP, because they rinse and repeat on a daily basis. This is where the Democrats do not spend nearly enough time, hammering home the truth and reality of what has taken place and the whys. We can't accept the tiniest lie, we have to set them straight each and every time. The teabagging fairy tales must die.

5. I liked that Pres Obama gave a long list of all the
good things the Dems have been responsible for in this country and he gave some good things the republicans created..you know..sane ones like Lincoln, Teddy Roosevelt and Eisenhower..

7. Excellent, Mr. Obama
Does this signal a change in tactics? Will the Democrats say, "To hell with those obstructionist Republicans, we're gonna pass this legislation because it's important to the American people"? I'd really like to see that, and I'll bet a lot of other people would, too. A lot of voters don't care about the illusion of bipartisanship; they want something to get done.
