Republican operative recruits ‘street people’ as Green Party candidates

A Republican political operative in Arizona has taken the third-party to the third degree: he's now recruiting candidates to run on the Green Party ticket in an effort to dilute support for statewide Democratic candidates.

And he's recruiting candidates on the street -- candidates with no political experience whatsoever.

1. I heard Steve May interviewed on NPR last night....

It's an insidious tactic. May made excellent points about everyone's right and responsibility to run for office, etc. Therein lies the insidiousness, IMO-- May is using election law and democratic philosophy to undermine the electoral system that democracy depends upon. He bumped my cynicism meter even higher-- something I thought was pretty much impossible to do.
