14. Come this November ....
Edited on Wed Sep-08-10 07:08 PM by Techn0Girl
the Democrats will lose the House and suffer a noticeable loss in the Senate.

When that happens please understand that it will be the mindless cheerleaders of the DLC and various discussion boards who will be fully responsible for that loss.

When that does happen - and it will - I also fully expect that none of the two aforementioned parties will take the blame for the loss and scratch their silly little heads mutter "Wha Happened?" and then lead the rallying cry for the need to REALLY get out the vote in '12.

I've been alive for over half a century and I've seen the "useful idiots" rinse and repeat that same mistake time and time again.

"What Happened?"
YOU happened.

You didn't care enough to make the people you elected live up to their promises - you just mouthed off mindless and senseless electioneering slogans as if you were rooting for some billionaire's sports team.

So when the current administration stuck it to the UAW union, when they left 70 THOUSAND men and woman to die in two ongoing wars, when the public option became mandatory individual payouts to Big Health Care, when Rahm Emannuel told the UAW and the progressive left to go fuck themselves.... you talked about my mythical pony.

What happened?
You happened.

20. You've got awfully strange ideas about what "victims" are.
Edited on Wed Sep-08-10 11:01 PM by JoeyT
So lemme help you out:
Gays in the military that had their careers ruined so someone could do the Sensible Centrist Tango are victims. People that can't afford health insurance, but are going to get it anyway, even if it costs them their house or the food on their table and they still won't be able to use it are victims. Children killed in drone strikes are victims. So are a lot of the adults killed in drone strikes. People that are being ground into dust by a craptastic economy that no one seems to have the will to fix because it's working out too well for the upper class are victims. Future American citizens assassinated by Presidential order without trials will be victims. People with unconstitutionally wiretapped phones are victims. Kids with no access to education because they aren't ideal students and will bring down a charter's scores will be victims once public schools are fully dismantled.

People that defended all of the above and are going to be angry when people damaged or destroyed by those policies don't do what's demanded of them are NOT victims.

16. My point exactly!!!!!!!!!!
Ain't winning shit, They are trying to scare us. Time to get ready. Do they really think we come this far to turn around now? Not me. I have noticed that the Democratic Congressional side has been awfully quiet lately. What is it? I don't want to sound like a conspiracy theorist, but what's up with the silence? As usual, we are going to have to go out their and do their damn job for them. Okay I say lets hit them the same way we did in the '08 days. Get everybody in the early vote and absentee ballots. Everybody commit to telling ten friends and relatives to commit to the early vote and absentee ballot and have the number ready to order the ballot and lets get their ass one more time by voting in Democratic candidates who feel as we do to progress the agenda. This Repug landslide that they think they are going to have, let's show them how its really done.

17. I admire your sentiment but.....

The various strategies that you proposed (get ten people to tell ten...get up early and knock on doors, etc) were winning strategies organized by the OFA. Heard about them much lately? No?? That's because they have all but been abolished.

I was a member of OFA and I can tell you that the Democratic powers that be (including Obama) pretty much dropped them after the elections like an old horse. After the elections the DLC had all the money it could use so grass roots supporters like myself were left hanging in the wind. OFA enjoyed a brief revival last summer around the time of the health care issue but when they found out that they were being directed to campaign AGAINST the public option -- well the membership pretty much wen to nothing.

I know. I was there.
The vast majority of the OFA wanted a public option. The vast majority of the OFA wanted Obama to adhere to his promise of ending the wars. The vast majority of the OFA wanted strong Union support. Wheh none of those things happened , the vast majority of the OFA .... just went away.

When OFA comes asking for MY help , I'm going to remember how the Democratic committee used us like the cheap whores we apparently were.

I'm not campaigning again because I've been lied to and screwed over.
Care to guess how many others will feel the same way?
