Uh--the San Bruno Gas explosion--- That was an infrastructure problem.

3. It sure was, and PG&E had been called to the area

and had been out there. There is no word if they had sniffers and tried to trace the source or if they just sort of poked around for a few minutes and left. They certainly neither identified the source of the leak nor did anything to shut it down so it could be fixed.

Apparently a leaking main in a densely settled area didn't concern them.

Not only are heads going to roll over this one, the lawsuit is going to be phenomenal.

If I were PG&E's top management, I'd be making plans to cash out and head for the Caribbean.

8. PG&E has been trying to kill us for years as part of their business model.

One of my relatives worked there as an engineer and he was in charge of "fixing" Diablo Canyon after the peace grannies hiked in to show them how insecure the installation was. He told me that PG&E was far more worried their bad press than about a potential meltdown.
