1. One simple thing to check for
If you have a decent virus protection, firewall kinda program (and these days you really should have one)

it may be that at the same time you are listening to AA, the virus protector et al program is scanning your computer, and this creates a confilct.

Find the icon that represents the virus protection program (The next time this is your concern)

Click on it. Check and see if it is in operation.

If it is, cancel the operation and make sure to re-schedule (For instance - if you always listen to AAR from 10Am to 3Pm, have the virus scan go into effect earlier than those hours.

You might want to fool around with the virus protector BEFORE the next time you are listening to AAR. Get familiar with the program so you can learn where on its menu bar you CAN check to see whether or not it is running, and also to find the information that is stored relating to what times you are scheduling the running of the scan

We use AVG and although it is a good program, for a while there it was deciding to run a scan to match the sceduling of any time it operated in the past. We had to go through the scheduling menu an and delete from the schedule about ten scans a day that were not necessary (I advise at least one daily - some people might want two, but ten is over kill)

Of course it could be a totally different problem (like trying to run the printer while listening, or downloading uploading a huge file etc)

3. A few options
First off, do a disk cleanup (Start/All Programs/Accessories/System Tools/Disk Cleanup on XP).

Or you could try a different stream. Pick a stream, any stream:

WMP: mms://rx-wes-sea153.rbn.com/farm/*/airam/airam/wmlive/livea.asf
Winamp/iTunes: http://mp3-wes-sea141.rbn.com:8000/airam/airam/mp3live/live.m3u
Real (if you dare): http://play.rbn.com/?url=airam/airam/live/live.rm

I have more stream listings (including affiliates) on my site. Just click the banner below and look down the left column.
