New York City will observe the ninth anniversary of the terrorist attacks on Saturday with familiar rituals — moments of silence, the reading of nearly 3,000 names — and a new rancor as supporters and opponents of a planned mosque near ground zero hold dueling rallies...
Opponents of the proposed mosque will assemble for their own rally at 3 p.m. at Park Place and West Broadway, near 51 Park Place but two blocks from the pro-mosque gathering. The anti-mosque rally is sponsored by two groups, the Freedom Defense Initiative and Stop Islamization of America, and organizers said although they could not estimate how many people would attend, they said some were traveling from as far away as California and Florida. Speakers include family members of Sept. 11 victims and Geert Wilders, an anti-Muslim Dutch politician who called for a ban on the Koran in the Netherlands. http://www.nytimes.com/2010/09/11/us/politics/11obama.html?ref=global-home I wonder if someone will fly Terry Jones to NYC so he can show up in the middle of it all?
My prediction: Qurans will indeed be burned tomorrow, with or without Terry.
