Great message to progressives from dinner tonight "Don't agonize, organize!"

Message from William McNary president of USAction and co-director of Citizen Action/Illinois at Citizen Action's Annual Dinner honoring US Rep. Phil Hare (D-IL):

"Don't agonize, organize!"

It was an excellent, energizing night. For those of you who don't know about McNary, he is one of the best social justice activists this country has, he doesn't just talk the talk he walks the walk! He rallied the troops tonight. He bragged about what this administration has accomplished, he bragged about what progressives have accomplished. He noted some are unhappy because the house we got is isn't perfect, but noted its a hell of foundation. He brought the crowd of about 1,000 to its feet twice.

Rep. Jan Schakowsky, Gov. Pat Quinn (D-IL) and Rep. Hare also gave awesome speeches.

Hare noted he is in the fight of his life for his support of health care but he doesn't regret it one bit. I hope that progressives and others will stand up for Hare the same way he stood up for us.
