False CNN report fodder for political ad

This week's TV ad slugfest in the white-hot gubernatorial race centered on Democrat Jerry Brown's record on taxes during his two terms as governor in the late 1970s and early '80s.
The Brown commercials insisted that taxes were lowered during his reign. The ads of GOP opponent Meg Whitman featured former President Bill Clinton calling Brown a liar during the 1992 presidential primary for claiming he lowered taxes in California.
A Mercury News review of state Department of Finance records shows that taxes went down during Brown's two terms -- and that the claim that they went up is based on an erroneous CNN report that ran in 1992.

3. The ad featuring BClinton is pretty aggressive.
BClinton once said that people would rather have a leader who is strong and wrong than one who is weak and right."

In this ad, BClinton is aggressively wrong.

I hope this doesn't damage JBrown.

4. BigDog needs to do the right thing here...

I saw this ad here in LA like 10 times in the last two days. It's clear that they were waiting for Jerry to start his ads and then counter with this SHIT... Bill is helping various people around the country, people who were for the wife in '08 mostly. Well, I think that he should do SOMETHING for Brown RIGHT AWAY because getting Jerry elected in CA might be just as important than helping some congressman somewhere else...

5. It would be helpful if BClinton did something but I think there's bad blood between them.
He didn't endorse HClinton in the Democratic primary and the Clintons hold grudges.
