Make cannabis legal everywhere in the US. (There is no room for negotiation on this.)

Meet these demands, and the Koran won't burn, deny these demands and I'll do it, I will!

We are a nation of 300+ million people. There is no way to stop a few nuts from burning a book. Giving media attention to these people and even discussing their demands will only encourage more of the same.

Imagine a bunch of folks sitting around, maybe unemployed, not particularly educated or terribly tolerant - this little group can just make a Facebook page declaring their intent to burn Qurans, get all sorts of attention, get on TV, hear from important people and launch their reality TV careers. The higher the reward in terms of attention, the more of this we are going to get.

We should not have made ANY public effort to dissuade this nutty preacher from doing this. There are always bad apples out there. Our government and public officials can condemn such stuff, but never go through such massive mobilization to stop it.

Lastly, I find it disturbing that so many people on the right and left seem to think the full weight of the US Government should be deployed to prevent this preacher from burning some holy book. While it is obnoxious, it is just a book. We can't be held hostage because a bunch of Islamic fundies and backward peoples scattered throughout the world get worked up over such a thing.
