1. A government that doesn't yell "TERROR ALERT!" constantly helps.
The little boy who cried "Wolf!" being gone from office has helped.

2. In spite of constant, aggressive propaganda.
When they can't sell the fear with their best marketing tools, times are really tough. When reality trumps the best fiction money can buy, our masters are in trouble! Stupid facts.

3. when you feel like you are standing on quicksand, more immediate
worries trump far off ones. people are worried about their jobs, their homes and their livelihood. they are worried about what will happen if they get sick. i know i worry about these things. scary monsters on the other side of the planet seem to not be as important when we have things right here to worry about.

5. maybe there's hope for November?
As far as I am concerned, the jury is still out when it comes to measuring the intellect of the average American voter...we'll see what happens in November. If Americans are indeed smarter that we think, then the Republicans will see few if any gains in November...time will tell.

6. It's not a priority to Bush and Guliani. Did anyone see these 2 at a a baseball game in Texas last
nite. Bush was eating popcorn. And after all that BS fear crap
he laid on us for years just to score political points. PHONY.
