WASHINGTON — Defense Department officials are negotiating to buy and destroy all 10,000 copies of the first printing of an Afghan war memoir they say contains intelligence secrets, according to two people familiar with the dispute.

The publication of “Operation Dark Heart,” by Anthony A. Shaffer, a former Defense Intelligence Agency officer and a lieutenant colonel in the Army Reserve, has divided military security reviewers and highlighted the uncertainty about what information poses a genuine threat to security.

So now our tax dollars are being spent to burn books?

From the same administration that said it was wrong to burn a religious book?

I guess some books are more worthy of burning according to our government ..right?

This reminds me of the Washington Times newspaper that was exposing Papa Bush running kids through the White House and our government bought up almost all of the newspapers so no one could read the article about
MK-ULTRA and papa Bush's nasty nefarious ways!!

Perhaps everyone could get tax breaks if our government stopped spending our Money..to cover up the criminals and crimes against all of us!

5. You can't stuff toothpaste back into a tube.
It's only a matter of time until this goes into widespread circulation as a pdf on wikileaks and the like.
