A view I hope to see again
This is a picture of my favorite fishing spot, Flatiron Reservoir. I took it last summer. It's very accessible and provides wonderful trout. We get to watch deer come down to the water to drink, and there are geese and herons and wild turkeys.

Today this lake and the one above it are surrounded by fire. A number of homes have been destroyed, families are staying in a shelter in Loveland. The fire is now over 600 acres and is 0% contained. The smoke is visible from where I live.

The Four Mile fire outside of Boulder has burned over 170 homes. We're hoping that this one can be contained before it can do that kind of damage.

1. What a tragedy. I hope they can contain the spreading
before more damage occurs to this beautiful place.

8. God bless firefighters, indeed!
One of my brothers is a firefighter in Washington State, his son trains firefighters in Arizona.

2. Gorgeous! My thoughts are with you; save Flatiron Reservoir!
Are you safe? Such a disaster going on there, yet we hear so little about it. (what's new?)

7. update info

http://www.9news.com /

I'm safe, thanks for asking! I live about 40 miles to the east of this fire, the smoke is obscuring the view of the mountains and making breathing a bit tricky, but we're not afire. Not yet, anyway.

worth staying for. And my heart is with you, madame. :pals: Please keep us posted.

3. Oh how sorry I am to hear this, and how devastating for the families.
I hope this will soon be under control, I too am shocked I did not hear this on the news.

6. Here's continuing coverage
on both fires:

If tears could help, these fires would have been extinguished right after they started. . .
