When I woke up today,I was just in time to catch Joe Scar pitch a fit about tax cuts, saying
his "constituency" on tax cuts for the wealthy were people in lived in trailers, making under $35,000 a year!

No, he didn't whirl around in his chair, but he was steamed...I thought "well, well, it looks like voters have gotten the message. Otherwise, why would he be so worked up?"

I didn't see the rest...mercifully, I found my remote and switched over very briefly to GMA, which was pretty boring. Then the TV went off for me for the morning...

1. Typical republicon. Lying through his teeth.
Why would any discerning citizen watch the daily corporate republicon propaganda spew?

Don't get it...

3. Oh, this was fun. When Joe's on a rant, I know the Dems are doing something right.
It took only a few minutes to discern what was getting under the repukes skin currently...then, it's off. I find that to be "discerning," but if it isn't to you, then you are right not to watch it for even a few minutes while your coffee is brewing.

We "discern" differently, I guess...:hi:

2. Are you saying he's upset because voters don't want to extend...
tax cuts for the wealthy or are they demanding tax cuts for the wealthy?

6. The former, I think. He's really being incoherent.
Of course, I don't believe a word of what he is saying about voters who live in trailers (as if they are all the same in the first place...talk about "stereotypes"!).

In the few minutes that I observed his rant, I saw a pattern that he goes into whenever his beloved "talking points" are under dispute. He gets mad and starts fuming and arguing with nobody (at least nobody on the set). It's kinda fun to watch for all of about 5 minutes. Then it's time for breakfast and the NYT...

4. I shut it off at that point
If I could have my wish I would be able to reach through the screen and yell at these "the rich create jobs" blowhards and yell:

"What jobs?! Your precious 'job-creators' have had the benefit of those tax cut for ten damned years and job growth has done nothing but shrink shrink shrink! The top 2% gave themselves pay raises, put their profits in the bank and enacted mass layoffs. What fucking jobs?, you blathering beasts!"

7. Oh, me too, Blogslut!
The only worth of this show is either brief moments like this, or a good discussion with the guests I want to see such as Elizabeth Warren, Howard Dean, Joan Walsh, sometimes Tina Brown, and Eugene Robinson...and there are a handful of others. I check it out in the first few minutes. I saw Andrew Card was coming up and got the show off before his drivel...

8. For me, MSNBC daytime is a lost cause
...except for Tamron Hall. Her, I like.

The "Morning Blow/Politico Bullfest" and the "Chuck & Savannah Diss the White House Soup of the Day Show" are too often too irritating. I like a little ire in the morning but these days, there's more petty pissing than I can tolerate.

10. Just get your "satisfaction" for the day and skip the rest...I find that works well!
If I see Joe waving his arms and getting really squinty eyed, I have my "moment" of great satisfaction for the day and I have my "fix" so no need to see it further. If another DUer finds another great rant, I go to the MSNBC Morning Joe website and watch ONLY that segment...it really works!

9. Bizzarre rant. He was making what seemed like opposing points.
Edited on Mon Sep-13-10 07:54 AM by Gidney N Cloyd
Like a drowning man desperately splashing around trying to grab something that floats.
He was trying to say 1) You shouldn't raise taxes on the "job creators" even though 2) The Rich have great accountants and they don't pay taxes in the first place, and 3) the Rich aren't even asking for tax breaks, just for the government to get regulations off their backs. 'Round and 'round, back and forth.

I think he wanted someone from the panel to jump in and take over but for the longest time they didn't seem to be able to figure out where he was going.

11. I didn't watch it long enough to catch what you described...sounds terrific!
I could tell earlier that he was in an incoherent state but your description really nails it! What fun!
